Description

Our client had been found guilty during his trial of various violations of securities law. He had received fines totaling more than $240,000.

A first request for a stay of proceedings due to unreasonable delays had been presented during the trial, but had been dismissed.

On appeal, the Superior Court overturned the trial judge's decision and ordered a permanent stay of proceedings on the grounds of unreasonable delay.

The Quebec Court of Appeal upheld the Superior Court's decision a few months later.

Me Raymond ensured the main representation of the client before the Court of Quebec and the Superior Court.
